One of my dietetic preceptors is from Buena Park, a North Side neighborhood, and she told me about a coffee shop near her called Dollop Coffee Co. After a day of doing home visits in extreme heat and humidity, it was so refreshing to cool down with an iced, unsweetened almond milk latte. I loved all the windows, exposed brick, and peaceful ambience.

Dollop uses Chicago based Metropolis coffee. The Metropolis Coffee Company is located in the Edgewater neighborhood, which is north of Lakeview. This company practices Fair Trade principles, roasts its own beans, and was a 2 time gold medalist for the Good Food Awards in 2015.
