Día 16 en Valladolid: Pavo con Ajo Frito

La Comida
 El Puré de Verduras

Chón made a puréed soup with carrot (zanahoria), potato (potata), onion (cebolla), garlic (ajo), and zucchini (calabacín).  All the vegetables (verduras) were boiled in water with a splash of olive oil (aceite de oliva) and salt. Then she puréed the contents of the pot with her immersion blender (batidora de mano).

El Pavo con Ajo Frito y Pasta

We finished up the rest of the spaghetti with fresh fried turkey and garlic.  I do love fried garlic.  Chón fried a small amount of chopped green bell pepper with the garlic, then added the turkey pieces and fried them, too.  Chón said "carne de pavo" instead of just pavo (turkey).  I noticed the same phrasing in the Spanish movie, Volver, in which an acress said "carne de cerdo" (pork meat). So I guess it´s more correct to say "carne de ___."

La Última Sandía

We had the last of the watermelon today.
