La Cena
Sardinas Frescas
Chón bought the sardines from the pescadería (fish store) this morning as a special treat for our second to last dinner in Valladolid. This was one of my favorites!
When I was in Madrid, I had boquerones (anchovies) which looked just like the sardines that Chón made. At first I thought the fish Chón served were anchovies, not sardines. However, after looking at more pictures of boquerones fritos on Google, I think the fish at the restaurant were mislabeled since anchovies are extremely slender in comparison to sardines.

Sardinas Fritas, Queso Oveja, y Gazpacho
This dinner was so refreshing after a 100 degree day! The sardines were delicious, especially when eaten with baguette, and the gazpacho added a cooling freshness to the meal. I had a few extra sardines because they were just so delicious and fun to eat!
Chón said she isn´t a big cheese fan because she lived in the country as a little girl and had cheese and bread almost every day. Her family had a flock of sheep, and she and her brothers milked them and her mom made cheese.
